Guardian Information

What are Guardians?

Guardians are chosen Rooster Teeth community members who dedicate their time and skills to help make RTX an amazing experience for everyone. Guardians provide support for attendees, special guests, Rooster Teeth cast/crew, and one another. Guardians are the customer service and crisis management frontline of RTX. Guardians represent RTX, Rooster Teeth, and the RT community. The RT community is pretty incredible and we aim to bring the best (and those aspiring to be the best) community representatives into our Guardian ranks.

What makes a Guardian?

We look for Guardians who are positive, patient, and cooperative, and possess strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to make the RTX experience awesome for everyone. Successful Guardians must be comfortable in crowds and crowded spaces. They must be able to deal with emergencies with a cool head. They must be willing to work with their team. We have a variety of jobs that range from super exciting to oddly mundane, but all jobs/tasks are important and necessary. Guardians must be 18+.

Submission Period

The Guardian application for RTX 2019 is now open! Please click below to submit your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is RTX?

The Internet. For real. In Austin. RTX is a convention hosted by Rooster Teeth, where we celebrate internet culture and gaming. There are exhibitors, live events on our Gaming Center Stage, panels, activities, and more.

Is there an age limit to RTX?

Yes. You have to be under 150 years of age. Sorry great-great-great grandpa! Other than that, no- there is no age limit. Anyone, of any age, can attend! Children 6 and under can get in free with a paying adult. However, please note that RTX does not provide children with supervision, so do not send your kids to the event alone if they cannot take care of themselves.

Are you going to offer discounted hotel rooms?

Yes, we have rooms blocked off for RTX 2018 at the Hilton, J.W. Marriott, and Fairmont - take advantage of these before July 2nd.

When do tickets go on sale?

Badges will officially go on sale with Early Bird Pricing rates on February 26 for Double Gold, February 28 for FIRST, and March 2 for the general public. March 9 rates for all tickets increase to Regular Pricing rates.

What if I'm under 18?

Anyone can come to RTX, but if you're under 18, make sure your parent or guardian is aware that RTX is not responsible for you. Don't have your parent drop you off with the expectation that you will have someone to watch you.

When will _____ be announced?

Event specifics, such as panel schedule, special guests, night activities, and more are usually announced about a month prior to the event. Sorry it's not available sooner, but we promise it will be worth it!

How do I get my badge if it was purchased by July 6?

All U.S. and Canada residents purchasing badges by July 6 11:59 p.m. CST will receive their badge in the mail to the address provided upon purchase.

All badges purchased after July 7 12:00 a.m. CST (U.S. and all International) will need to be picked up on-site at the Austin Convention Center between August 2-5, with a valid photo ID and confirmation email.

An activation code will be listed on your badge with an information insert for activating your badge. Keep your badge in a safe spot and remember to bring it with you to RTX. We will not replace any forgotten badges. If you have forgotten to bring your badge, you will have to purchase a new badge onsite.

How do I get my badge if it was purchased AFTER July 6?

Purchasing a badge AFTER July 6 means you still get to enjoy all the fun of RTX, but you must pick up your badge onsite at the Austin Convention Center between August 2-5.  All tickets will need to be picked up on-site at RTX with a valid photo ID and confirmation email. This includes all international orders whether they were purchased before or after July 6.

When/Where is queuing for panels?

You can begin queuing for panels 1 hour before each panel.  There will be Guardians and signage directing you to the appropriate queuing line for each panel.
